I'm worried 
Windows won't work on our pc. It was fine yesterday, but today when we tried to boot up we just got a message on the screen. It said...
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
Then it says i can attempt to repair the file by starting windows set up using the original set up CD-ROM, and pressing 'r' at the first screen.
So... i wasn't sure which CD it was, as a few of them have Windows on them. I tried them all, and nothing happened! That message just kept coming back.
I hope we haven't got a virus! Does anyone know if this is easily fixed? I'm not very good with this sort of thing... haven't got a clue in fact!

I hope i can find the right CD! They all look the same though I'll give those a read and see what i can do tomorrow!

Thats real bad news Carly,  as Bjorn said i hope you havent lost all your data! thats one of the reasons why i,v ordered my new PC, i think my hard drive is on the way out, been getting strange clicking sounds comming from it 
hope you get it sorted soon.

Yeh, that's what i've been wondering, but apparantly it should be ok. Even if there is data loss, i don't have anything on the pc, it's all here on my laptop, which is mostly backed up now. Just hope we haven't lost all of our photos (just the ones of me  )
I hope we get it sorted soon too Clive, cos my mam keeps stealing my laptop!!

as i said .. duno if the hard disk just stuck ... but give it a little hit ... maybe it'll boot up then ... it's no joke
