Must admit, i have never seen a football match all the way through, i have absolutely no interest in the game.

As Julia said, there is so much trouble wherever football is played, and i am ashamed to be british, Sad so called english supporters cause more trouble than any other Country in the world Rolling Eyes

I too have never watched a whole football match as I have no interest in the game. And yeah....it sometimes makes me feel ashamed to be british.

I'm not a big football-fan either, but for me the world cup is more than just the game, it's the patriotic thingy and i don't think there is so good spirit in the world as it is during this event! ppl don't hate, they talk about football! Very Happy
I understand the germans think it's too much about this cup atm and i can imagine it is over there since they host it, but i think every country has this obsession...i saw a research from sweden that 60% more men call in sick from work during this event Very Happy Very Happy it really says how big it is... Smile

i hope for sweden of course, but i don't think we'll win! Smile if not, england (because of Svennis and beckham Razz) or germany! Joy

Thought I'd share this little chart with those girls (or even guys) not interested in football. Obviously the country and prizes can be changed to suit, but you get the gist. And I think your partner should contribute to prizes just to make it more fun Razz
So Katha, maybe next you hear 'WELTMEISTERSCHAFT' you'll smile and think of your next treat.

The writing is a bit fuzzy so I’ve typed the first paragraph

For every game England play (win, lose or draw) claim a treat from POT 1. You will have to put up with all of these games, whatever happens, so you should be rewarded for it. If at the end of these three games England are top or second proceed to Round 2. Otherwise they have been knocked out

The goal yesterday was nice Very Happy ( I thought 0:0 will finally be the final score Laughing )
But it seems as if the players like or love it to kick each other^^If they get hurt they lie on the ground waiting till the umpire (don’t know if that is the right expression for this man on the field, who risks his life showing the yellow or red card^^) shows the nice “ yellow card” …if this is not the case, they jump up and run as if nothing has happen and every injury is cured Think Men…Wink Sry Bah! Cookie

tbh Germanys game yesterday SUCKED!! They were on their own ground, with soo much public support, playing against POLAND, and BEARLY won? Bah, what a disgrase.....
I hope for better games from every country the rest of the cup, seems like everyones playing 'friendship matches' instead of as 'serious' at it is... Smile
